Summary

Crayon is upset!
It is a book that tells children who want to paint the sun green with "Crayon is angry!" Instead of saying No! Drew Day Walt wrote a very interesting article that focused on childrens creativity and personality and broke stereotypes。

Crayons, Pink is a color for girls only, not to write themselves on the border of pictures Pink crayons, yellow and orange crayons fighting the colors of the sun each other, blue crayons for wanting to stop doing too much work 。。。 。。。 。 There are obvious reasons for the 12-color crayons that have stopped painting。 The reasoned complaints of these crayons are not just cute。 It makes us realize how many stereotypes we are tied to。

And the paintings of Oliver Jeffers, made right at the childrens eye level, make this book more brilliant。 The cool picture of the main character Danny who solved all the winds of 12 color crayons in one sheet is a pink dinosaur, orange whale and purple。 I can not help but admire Oliver Jeffers, who perfectly depicts the wonderful world that made children and adults cheerful。
"Crayon is angry!" tells us that personality and creativity can be born when we get rid of stereotypes。 We are ranked # 1 in "Amazons Best Picture Books" and "Best New York Times" picture books。

Guest readers Uncle Matt and Auntie Ray began reading The Day the Crayons Quit, but none of us engaged。 This doesn’t mean it isn’t great。 Matt switched back to Curious George and the First Day of School and all was well again。 We will return。

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars。

Hi Friends, today I going to share my experience on how I felt after reading this book: 'THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUIT'。 I have never read such a story before。 The story is very funny & at the same time interesting as well。 All throughout the story reading I was enjoying & laughing。 When I heard the name of the story first time, I was surprised as it is on non-living thing - CRAYONS。All those who are interested in stories reading should read this story once & enjoy。Thank You。 Hi Friends, today I going to share my experience on how I felt after reading this book: 'THE DAY THE CRAYONS QUIT'。 I have never read such a story before。 The story is very funny & at the same time interesting as well。 All throughout the story reading I was enjoying & laughing。 When I heard the name of the story first time, I was surprised as it is on non-living thing - CRAYONS。All those who are interested in stories reading should read this story once & enjoy。Thank You。 。。。more

What a cute little picture book I got to read with my nephew。 Love the idea of the crayons quitting, leaving behind letters that are fun to read and so funny at times。 The art is lovely, and my nephew had as much fun reading the book as I did。

It tells the story of Duncan, a little boy who comes home to find his crayons missing and a stack of letters in their place。 Each letter is from a different color, and all the letters are letters on how the crayons are sad about duncan overusing them or not using them。I also did not like the fact that the author is stereotyping that the color ping is a "girls color"。So it is a good book but it could have been so much better。 It tells the story of Duncan, a little boy who comes home to find his crayons missing and a stack of letters in their place。 Each letter is from a different color, and all the letters are letters on how the crayons are sad about duncan overusing them or not using them。I also did not like the fact that the author is stereotyping that the color ping is a "girls color"。So it is a good book but it could have been so much better。 。。。more

This is such an imaginative book where the crayons tell their side of the story when the child, Duncan, wants to draw his usual pictures。It’s funny, witty and encourages empathy from the child who is reading。 The illustrations are child like and visually appealing。 Each crayon has its own character and viewpoint on the situation。 White says what drives all adults crazy with children who ‘colour’ using white ‘You colour with me, but why? Funny This book was entertaining。 I loved the idea of personifying the crayons because young children use them so often and can tend to abuse them。 By creating a story that gives them feeling that can help children take better care of then as well as learn different ways to use the crayons to create there masterpieces。 I would recommend this book for early preschoolers (ages 2) through kindergarten。

Reflections and lessons learned:“Don’t look at me… I’m irrelevant!”An early tiny clip from The Young Ones had a huge impact on my imagination and the inclusion of inanimate objects in my perspective。 How ignorant are we to think that we’re the only ones with personalities just because they don’t directly communicate them to and with humans? I love the thought of that potentially real wall being broken and the objects , including that talking matchbox, being able to tell us why our interaction with the item maybe wrong and unfair。The personalities of all the colours of crayon and how their used in traditional child colouring encompasses more emotion and depth than most modern films。 And then on top of all of that, the twist to how peach is physically treated, lining up the sequel potential perfectly! The unseen narrator and the wonderful ending makes this an absolute classic, to the point where both of my children wanted their own copy in the house after doing separate school projects including these characters“…and of course he wanted his crayons to be happy…” 。。。more

I liked this color story book very much , too nice to hear the feelings of different colors

Alejandro

I liked this book and they were so angry but Duncan fixed it。

Fun concept, and imaginative (how the crayons could write to the owner, and how he used them to draw a picture at the end)。 However, I found it to be mostly whiney, and pretty much a book all about complaints being considered funny。 It grew old quickly, and I struggled to want to finish it for my childrens bedtime story。

Charlotte Marshall

A brilliant, imaginative story! Each crayon has something to say to Duncan about how he uses them。 Humorous。 Love the illustrations and how each letter is represented。

Cheyenne

This was absolutely ADORABLE!

Melanie

Read this book as a whole class Year 5 reading book and the children really enjoyed the story plus making up their own crayon character。

Aditi

Good book。 Yellow and orange both are colours of the sun。 Crayons should not fight。 Duncan just wanted to colour。 Good illustrations。

Naomi

Haha! Aha! Eureka!

Yvonne

It’s a cute little book! Very fun, but I feel like maybe I didn’t understand the ending? Some of the creations seem to have gotten what they wanted, but what about beige? Anyways, the illustrations were great!

My 3-year-old granddaughter wants this read to her before bed every single night。 She's been staying for a week and a half - so we've read it quite a few times so far。 She's 'read' it a few times on her own, too。 It's a cute story with cute illustrations that look like child-drawn and colored pictures。 She has favorite colors (not JUST pink) and a very strong opinion about the color of the sun。 And I'm sure we'll read it a few more times in the next several days before she goes back home。 My 3-year-old granddaughter wants this read to her before bed every single night。 She's been staying for a week and a half - so we've read it quite a few times so far。 She's 'read' it a few times on her own, too。 It's a cute story with cute illustrations that look like child-drawn and colored pictures。 She has favorite colors (not JUST pink) and a very strong opinion about the color of the sun。 And I'm sure we'll read it a few more times in the next several days before she goes back home。 。。。more

I stumbled upon this book from a list of postmodern picture books。 It looked cute so I thought I would give it a try。 This book is about a boy named Duncan's crayons who feel overworked, underused, or unappreciated。 In this book, we never actually see Duncan, the book starts out with a picture of a stack of letters addressed to Duncan。 Each crayon writes Duncan a letter stating why he/she needs a break from coloring and has decided to quit。 Each crayon has its own problem and clearly states what I stumbled upon this book from a list of postmodern picture books。 It looked cute so I thought I would give it a try。 This book is about a boy named Duncan's crayons who feel overworked, underused, or unappreciated。 In this book, we never actually see Duncan, the book starts out with a picture of a stack of letters addressed to Duncan。 Each crayon writes Duncan a letter stating why he/she needs a break from coloring and has decided to quit。 Each crayon has its own problem and clearly states what can solve its problem。 Some crayons have a problem with Duncan-they problems range from him not coloring in the lines, to only coloring specific things with that color, other's have a problem with another crayon。 For example, yellow and orange crayons both think they should be Duncan's only choice when he is coloring the sun。 Each crayon is writing their letter in the first person point of view and the author does a great job of explaining their reasoning for wanting to quit。 They each have a very valid point。 The author also does a great job of giving each crayon a personality。 I would use this book to teach cause and effect or problem-solving with my students。 。。。more

While this book is for children, the illustrations that show the perspectives of the crayons are hilarious。 I could read this book many times and still not get bored。Great for children!

When we went to the library, this is the only book I would consent to look at, because it has crayons and I like crayons。 Mommy doesn't think it has much of a story, but it has crayons and coloring。 I don't know what else it needs。 When we went to the library, this is the only book I would consent to look at, because it has crayons and I like crayons。 Mommy doesn't think it has much of a story, but it has crayons and coloring。 I don't know what else it needs。 。。。more

This book is hilarious! And it’s really cute too! I love the part where blue crayon is stubby because he was used too much and peach crayon was naked because his wrapper got peeled。 It’s little bits of quirkiness and childlike humor that I love。 ❤️
